Dracula Halloween Horror Festival
Clontarf Castle Hotel will host Bram Stoker - Dracula Halloween Horror Festival.
From 27th-31 October 2010. Born in 1847 in Clontarf, Dublin, Stoker wrote 18 book the most famous of which was Dracula, published in 1897.The event will focus on a wide variety of performances including international year Vampire World Championship Cloak Race, a ghost walk of the ancient Clontarf Cemetary which contains the ruins of the church where Stoker was baptised in 1847, and a Science Fiction Convention with a horror mastermind quiz and a scream party.Entries will be invited from all budding directors and actors to the Stoker Academy Short Horror Film Competition. First prize will be ?1000 and entrants are requested to submit work of at least 15 minutes duration on a gothic horror theme
Horrorthon Film Festival
From 21-25th October 2010, the IFIs will host the Horrorthon Film Festival. The first event took place in 1998 when horror greats like Deep Rising, The Reanimator, and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre were screened Deranged favourites. Over the years the festival has grown to become a 5 day event with many first screenings and guest appearances by famous directors producers and actors. So head to Eustace Street in Dublin for this years event which is sure to as good as years gone by.
Samhain Parade
Halloween is a time for celebrating Ireland ' Celtic and Pagan traditions and Dublin is certainly the place to be this year. The Samhain Dublin Parade takes place annually, usually on the 31 October. The Parade winds its way around the city centre streets and ends in Temple Bar, the cultural quarter of Dublin. The streets become alive with colour as dragons, devils, fire eaters and ghouls dance their way along, much to the delight of sub-masters and participants alike. The night ends with a fantastic fireworks display. Revellers then hand to head for the many nightspots qui host Halloween fancy dress events.

The annual Children's puck Festival takes place Tues from 26th to 28th October 2010 at the Seamus Ennis Cultural Centre, Naul, County Dublin Thurs.On Tues 26th, the kids can participate in a Halloween lantern workshop, where a teacher will help the little ones tissue glue it to a willow framework and then decorate it.
